She enjoyed tending her flowers and vegetable garden, creating flower arrangements, playing cards and talking with friends over coffee and she had a special stash of candy for the neighbor children who brought her drawings that she kept to show friends

She was a 1969 graduate of Fostoria High School. Coleen was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and had been a cook at St. Wendelin grade school and high school for over 33 years. She had also catered for a brief time, specializing in cake baking. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Coleen loved camping, and her camping family who referred to her as "Grandma". She loved her family and was the best mom ever.
