General Notes: Wife - Carmen Laura BOWERS
She enjoyed bingo and going to the casino, but most of all, she enjoyed her family. She often hosted big family dinners during the holidays and had "occasions" to have the gang over for impromptu feasts. Carmen made sure that she had her "two cents" heard and gave advice from the heart. She was not afraid to let her opinions be heard, but let you know that she loved and cared for you!
Carmen loved going to baseball and basketball games. She was her children and great-grandchildren's biggest fan. Even in the little town of Trout Creek, she made sure that she had the baseball package so she would not miss the games. As a resident at Bayside, you could always find her watching the games in her room. Carmen was convinced that she could be heard cheering on her team or yelling at the umps right through the television. She loved the Chicago Cubs and looked forward to her yearly Thanksgiving dinner call from Dusty Baker.
Carmen was a "domestic engineer" at her finest. She never missed out on family functions and had amazing organizational skills to make sure that her family knew she was there for them.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Trout Creek, was employed at the U.S. Forest Service in Watersmeet and retired at the age of 75, and was a member of the American Legion's Women's Auxiliary in Trout Creek.

In 1985, Dorothy retired from Owens Illinois Training Center. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton. She was a member of the Cornelia Chapter of Eastern Star, Republic, and was Worthy Matron from 1984-1985.
She was the first secretary/treasurer of Nugent's Canal Property Owners Assoc. from 1972-1985. An avid sports fan, Dorothy was a very strong supporter of the Detroit Tigers. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
