Owen worked in maintenance for forty-one years at the former A.O. Smith, Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was the owner of De' Ohl Nut Company for thirty plus years, was a 1957 graduate of Sycamore High School and a former member of Plankton United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Sycamore American Legion Post # 250, member of the Upper Sandusky Moose Lodge # 1093 and the Eagles Club in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. He was a former member of the VFW Post # 2842 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and currently was a member of the Indian Mill Antique Tractor Association. Owen also served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1959.
